The ICO Summer Research Program (SRP) launched its new cycle at the start of the 2024 Summer Quarter, with three students commencing their research projects. This year's participants are Alyssa Ang ’27, mentored by Rebecca Zoltoski, PhD; Phuong Lam ’27, mentored by Elsa Zhuang, PhD and Daniel Roberts, OD; and Yeonsoo (Rebecca) Kum ’27, mentored by Elsa Zhuang, PhD. These students, have completed their first year of academic training at ICO and, will immediately begin the primary data collection phase on campus during the summer.

Throughout the summer, the SRP students will engage in a didactic program covering clinical research, including reading assignments, journal club meetings, and regular mentor discussions. After the summer data collection phase, they will continue with data analysis, aiming to present their findings at national research meetings and to publish their work in scientific journals.
