ICO celebrated its annual capstone ceremony on May 16th, marking the accomplishments of many from the Class of 2024.

75 students (62% of the class) received an award this year. 40% of the graduates received Latin Honors, reflecting their exceptional academic achievements. Additionally, 27 of the new optometrists will be advancing their training through residencies, preparing them to further specialize and enhance their skills in various fields of optometry.

This year's graduating class hailed from 14 states across the U.S. and four Canadian provinces, underscoring ICO's commitment to attracting top talent from across North America.

The capstone ceremony included the inaugural awarding of two notable scholarships. The Drs. Leonard and Stephanie Messner Scholarship, awarded for the first time this year, was presented in the presence of the Drs. Messner. Additionally, the Darrel G. Schlange, OD Scholarship for Excellence in Pediatric Optometry was awarded for the first time. This scholarship held special significance as Dr. Schlange passed away just a few months ago.
