At this year's Retina 2024 symposium, Mark K. Colip, OD ’92 and Seenu Hariprasad, MD announced that going forward the event would officially be re-named to the 'Mullen-Ernest Symposium'. The change was made to honor the president and department chair who founded the partnership between our institutions, Charles Mullen, OD and Terry Ernest, MD, over two decades ago.

Their legacy and ideals carry on at ICO and by renaming this symposium, we hope to emphasize the importance of the partnership they built, our relationship with University of Chicago and the strides we are continuing to make together over 25 years later.
