Eye Health Life Health

Maintaining healthy eyes is an essential part of living a healthy life. This is the message we are now conveying through the Eye Health Life Health Coalition. EHLH is an exciting collaboration between healthcare, social service, and community business leaders dedicated to advancing awareness of the importance of eye health. The coalition is chaired by our very own Nancy DeMaso, Senior Director of Illinois Eye Institute Administration.

The Coalition launched the Healthy Eyes for a Healthy Life campaign on November 11, 2015, to educate people about the link between eye health and overall health. Key points include how eye tests can detect chronic health problems like diabetes, hypertension and high cholesterol. A comprehensive list helps link patients with Medicaid providers.

EHLH creative elements can be seen online and around the city of Chicago, including on the CTA. Our efforts are reaching the medical community as well as underserved populations in Chicago with the message that eyes really are windows to general well-being.
